Will it be available on consoles?

We are happy to share that our game is slated for a full release in 2026, which also includes availability on consoles. Due to our commitment to delivering top-tier graphics using the latest technology in Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5, we will be launching the game exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. We appreciate your patience and are confident that the wait will be well worth it.
Reason's why Ships At Sea can't be released on consoles while it's still in Early Access on PC.

Quality Standards and Certification:
Console platforms (like PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch) have strict quality standards and certification processes. They require games to be fully polished and free of major bugs before they can be released. Since Ships At Sea is still in early access on PC, it's in a phase where we're actively developing, testing, and improving it. It wouldn’t meet the rigorous quality requirements for consoles yet.

Frequent Updates and Iterations:
Early access allows us to update the game frequently based on player feedback. We can quickly push out new features, bug fixes, and improvements. On consoles, updating a game involves a longer and more complex process, including additional certification for each update. This would slow down our development and make it harder to respond to player feedback in a timely manner.

Optimization and Performance:
Developing for consoles requires extensive optimization to ensure the game runs smoothly on different hardware configurations. During early access, our focus is on adding content and refining gameplay. Once Ships At Sea is more stable and complete, we can dedicate time to optimizing it for console performance.

Player Experience:
We want to ensure that when console players get their hands on our game, they have a great experience. Early access games are inherently unfinished and can have bugs and incomplete features. Releasing on console too early could lead to frustration and a negative experience for console players, which is something we want to avoid.

Resource Allocation:
Developing and maintaining a game for multiple platforms requires significant resources. During early access, our team is focused on making the PC version the best it can be. Splitting our attention to also manage a console version could slow down overall development and affect the quality of the final product.

By keeping Ships At Sea in early access on PC for now, we can gather valuable feedback, make necessary improvements, and ensure that the final product is polished and enjoyable for everyone, including console players. Once Ships At Sea is ready for a full release, we’ll be excited to bring it to consoles with the quality and stability that players expect.

Thanks for your understanding and support!
